This web site is designed to help people trace their British, European and Anglo-Indian family history in colonial India. Much of the web site is devoted to British families, but this series of pages refers to non-British family history. Indian ancestry is particularly difficult to trace since there are comparatively few written records preserved which could shed some light on a family's genealogy. However, with a little luck and much perseverance, it may be possible to gain some information about your Indian ancestors through a combination of several types of records.
ISTG is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping you find your ancestors. From the links below, you can view our transcribed passenger lists, including the names of the Captains. We have eight completed Volumes, each containing 1,000 passenger lists; we are working on Volume 9. This leads to Ancestry.com
